Are amino acids important? Definitely! Amino acids are basically the little puzzle pieces that make up proteins. In short: Proteins are made up of Amino Acids!

Amino acids are the basic elements of all life processes. Amino acids are essential for the metabolism process. The main tasks include transporting and storing nutrients in the largest sense of the word. So storing protein, carbohydrates, water, fat, minerals and vitamins, among other things.

Besides the benefits in sports purposes, most of the health problems are caused by disturbances in metabolism. Consider from high cholesterol and diabetes to insomnia, erection etc. In short, amino acids and especially the essential amino acids are hugely important in our lives! As an athlete you naturally want to perform and function optimally so the proper supply of essential amino acids in particular will be an important part of the total diet.

The latter means that it depends on each situation whether the amino acid can be considered essential (for example, arginine cannot be produced by babies, but can be produced by adults).
